Rev. Jason Place (RI, CT, MA)
My name is Jason Place. I am ordained by the Universal Life Church and am legally able to perform marriages in RI and have filed the paperwork to be able to do so in CT within the next few weeks.
I can also perform marriages in MA, but the paperwork there for out-of-state officiants is a bit cumbersome and must be done on a per-event basis, so I would probably defer to a MA resident officiant unless there were none available.
While I am not clergy of any major denomination, I am comfortable with spiritual aspects of any tradition in ceremonies I officiate as long as it doesn’t rise to the level of “counterfeiting” the ceremony of a group and emulating spiritual authority I do not have. I am also willing to perform secular ceremonies.
